Cholesterol Metabolism Disorders

Cholesterol is an essential substance for a healthy life as it is present in all cells in our body and forms the building block of hormones, but when its ratio in the blood is above certain levels, it is called hyperlipidemia. Hyperlipidemia causes occlusive vascular disease called atherosclerosis in all arteries, especially the arteries that feed the heart. A fat-rich diet, inactivity, weight gain, hormonal disorders such as diabetes and thyroid disease predispose to hyperlipidemia. Treatment of hyperlipidemia, which causes impaired oxygenation of vital organs, is important. In order to prevent hyperlipidemia, it is of vital importance to have doctor controls at regular intervals and to organize appropriate medication and supportive therapies. In our practice, treatment of cholesterol diseases is applied under the control of a specialist physician.
